Why families choose Violet

A nurse leads every plan, and you always know who to call

Violet was founded by a registered nurse with California's Public Health Nurse certification. That training looks past the diagnosis to the whole picture at home, like who helps with meals, whether the stairs are safe, and whether the pill labels are readable.

Every patient gets a written plan with goals the doctor signs. Visits are front-loaded when risk is highest after a hospital stay, then taper as the patient grows more independent. Updates go to the physician, and the family stays informed.

How it works

From referral to first nurse visit in three steps

  1. 1

Call us or ask your doctor

Families can contact us directly, and physicians, hospitals and case managers can send a referral. We confirm insurance and gather the doctor's orders.

  2. 2

An RN visits for the start of care

A registered nurse comes to the home for a full assessment of health, medications, the home itself and the patient's goals. That visit becomes the plan of care.

  3. 3

    Scheduled visits and steady updates

Nurses and therapists visit on the schedule the physician approves. We report progress to the doctor and adjust the plan as things change.

FAQ

Questions families ask

What is skilled nursing at home?

Skilled nursing is medical care that has to be performed or supervised by a licensed nurse, such as wound care, IV therapy, injections, medication management and monitoring of a serious condition. Home health brings that care to the patient's home on a scheduled basis.

How is this different from non-medical home care?

Non-medical caregivers help with companionship, meals and housekeeping. Skilled home health is clinical care ordered by a physician and delivered by licensed nurses and therapists. Many families use both.

Do I need a doctor's order?

Yes. Skilled home health services require a physician's order and a plan of care the physician signs. If you don't have an order yet, contact us and we can reach out to your doctor's office.

Will Medicare or insurance cover it?

Medicare and many private plans cover intermittent skilled nursing at home when a physician certifies it's medically necessary and the patient is homebound. Our office verifies benefits before the first visit and explains what to expect.

How soon can care start?

We schedule the first nurse visit as quickly as orders and insurance allow, and we work with hospital discharge planners so care can begin soon after a patient gets home.
